For example, local area networks (LANs) that connect Microsoft Windows and Linux based personal computers with Apple Macintosh computers are heterogeneous.A heterogeneous network is the network of computer and other devices connected with each other across different operating systems and protocols.
The factors that drive the growth of heterogeneous network market is the increased number of mobile broadband data subscribers and limited resources. The mobile data operators comply with the challenge of limited resources by increasing the capacity of radio spectrum, adding different multi-level antenna techniques and implementing more efficient and coding techniques. Another factor that dominates the growth of heterogeneous network market is the growth of data over the cellular networks increasing significantly as mobile users download more video, transfer more data and majorly use smartphones as their main device for mobile communications.
